Bio
Mrs. Jones was born in Charleston, SC and grew up in Vicksburg, MS. With a passion for people, art, and music, she was involved in a myriad of activities including Symphonic Band, the literary magazine "Vicksburg Voices," choir, jazz band, captain of the band's colorguard (flag team), Vice-President of Future Teachers of America, Environmental Club, the Thespian Society, member of the Mississippi Lions' All-State Band, and many others.
A graduate of Mississippi College, Mrs. Jones earned her Bachelors Degree in Social Work and Masters Degree in Education. As a student at Mississippi College, she was a member of the National Association of Student Social Workers and was named to the President's and Dean's List. Mrs. Jones interned at MIDD-West Industries (Mississippi Industries for the Developmentally Disabled) and as an Investigative Social Worker for the Mississippi Department of Human Services in Hinds County.
Mrs. Jones is the wife of Mr. Corey S. Jones and they have three children: Gracelyn (Manchester Academy Alumni), Sophia (currently a 9th grader at MA), and Sam (currently a 7th grader at MA). She is the daughter of Darrell and Barbara Sorrels of Peyton, MS.
Mrs. Jones' hobbies include teaching and playing chess, singing, painting, writing, watching documentaries, scrapbooking, and is a life-long learner. When she is not at work, she enjoys time spent with her husband, children, and pets and spends as much time as possible with her parents at the Sorrels' property.
